Kristine Yung – President & Co-Founder

Kristine brings dream homes to life with built-in equity, making for a valuable investment. Through her focus on building relationships, as well as her guidance and education on home building and investments, she is able to deliver homes in an enjoyable and efficient build process that is on time, on budget, and adds value to homeowners and investors who appreciate family, relationships, education, community, and intelligent and sincere effort in craftsmanship.

With over 15 years of industry experience, Kristine has worked in large corporate settings, along with private residential and land development firms and real estate financing. However, it wasn’t until she experienced building her own custom home 13 years ago that she discovered her true passion: supporting other homebuilders through the process of constructing their own home.

With her Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance major, her licence as a Mortgage Broker through the Real Estate Council of Alberta, along with holding an accounting diploma, Kristine is able to provide insight into the financial and investment side of building a custom home that very few have.

Being born and raised in Calgary, Kristine is driven to contribute to the community by developing sustainable, quality built homes with truly unique designs. Whether this is through her volunteer activities, which has included Habitat for Humanity, or through nurturing positive relationships with clients, trades, suppliers, and partners, Kristine looks to continue her Father’s legacy of sharing wisdom and knowledge to the real-estate industry and creating opportunities for our families and our clients.

Outside of work, Kristine enjoys spending quality time with her family and is learning all the joys of being a new mother to her energetic baby girl.

Chris Chataway – Project Manager

As Sagebrook’s lead Construction Project Manager, Chris brings over 15 years of experience to our custom build projects. What his experience does for our clients cannot be measured.

Yes, he has extensive knowledge in construction, but it is his managing abilities that allow our clients’ projects to flow with ease on site. Because of his experience, he has in-depth knowledge about every trade, and understands how to make all parties work cohesively as a team. “Charismatic Chris,” as we call him, brings positive energy to all projects, allowing him to foster relationships with sub-contractors, motivating them to always bring their best to our clients. This has resulted in reliable, loyal, and incredibly hard working trade partners.

Prior to starting with Sagebrook, Chris worked with a number of well-respected custom homebuilders and renovation companies. In fact, his craftsmanship earned him the 2008 SAM Award for Best Bathroom Renovation, while three other projects were nominated for the SAM Award for Best Kitchen Renovation.

Apart from Sagebrook, Chris is a founding member of the Garrison Woods Stampede Breakfast (founded in 2003), supporting the Veteran’s Food Bank, and has raised tens of thousands of dollars and had three homes donated to the Women’s Shelter.

Melissa Posadas – Account Manager

Above and beyond; client service; growth: these are what guide Melissa Posadas as Sagebrook’s Account Manager.

Building on her experience of project management in the Oil & Gas industry, sales in IT, and support as a Legal Assistant, Melissa brings a unique skill set to our team, particularly in the form of client and supplier partner relations and process. Here, she focuses on details and ensures that, from an administrative side, projects move forward efficiently.

Melissa takes the time to ensure that clients and our partners’ concerns are heard, questions are answered, and expectations are met. Her ability to have honest and straightforward conversations supports not just our clients, but the rest of the team in communicating the needs of all parties involved in the home build process. Melissa shares this same motivation in education and continues to build her knowledge about the real estate, building, and design industry.

But it’s not all real estate and home building for Melissa. Outside of Sagebrook, she, along with her husband, Max, run Calgary’s MoreSalsa Dance Studio as dance instructors and entertainers.

David Yung – In Memorium (Sept. 10, 1951 – Feb. 14, 2016)

Professionally David Yung was known for his honesty, integrity, and business acumen. But most of all he valued, and was known for his commitment to, his family. It is on these values that David, along with his daughter, Kristine Yung, founded Sagebrook Developments Inc. Building relationships and family are core to our company and guide our actions every day.

With a career that spanned over 40 years in the real estate industry, David held several executive management positions with some of the largest institutional financial and real estate firms in Canada and the U.S. His experience ranged from accounting to managing real estate and loan portfolios, including construction and development loans, foreclosures and workouts, as well as providing refinancing alternatives on existing portfolios. David also provided consulting services to financial institutions in regards to non-performing loans, as well as to Real Estate Syndicators for the financing and acquisition of real estate across North America. With his background and experience, David had the ability to maximize the value of real estate assets. This same ability lives on with Sagebrook in his daughter’s skills.

While David was many things to the real estate industry, he will most be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family above all else, including himself.
